How to use this template :
The archive includes 2 templates with a different style : - the modern version : TheDom-TypeWriter-Modern-tpl - the nostalgic version : TheDom-TypeWriter-Nostalgic-tpl
Open the archive and decompress the appropriate template.
Open the template TheDom-TypeWriter-xxxxxx.pte.
- First step : Compose your text
Select the first slide and go in the Objects and Animation window. There are 7 lines of text. For each line, in the Properties tab, type your text (replace). For a perfect result, it is very important to respect the maximum length of each line : do not overlap the text over the red zone.
- Second step : Animation of the Type Writer
Copy the text of each line of slide #1 into the corresponding line of the next slides : - for text of [LINE 01], copy it into the corresponding text object of slides #3, 4 and 5 - for text of [LINE 02], copy it into the corresponding text object of slides #4, 5 and 6
It is the same logic for text of [LINE 03] to [LINE 07].
- Third step : Animation of the Sheet of Paper
Open a text editor (like wordpad). Go to slide #1 and copy the content of each text object (lines 1 to 7). Paste the content of each line in your text editor. At the end, you will have 7 lines of text. Copy the whole text. Go to slide #10. Select the [LINE 1 to 7] object and paste the text you copied.
- Fourth step : Final adjustements
- If the content of a line of slide #1 is far away on the left from the red zone, you will have to shorten the animation in the next slides.
By example, for [LINE 02], if the text is shorter : select slide [LINE 02] (slide #4) and in the Objects and Animation window, select the ARM object. Select the last keypoint (on the right) and press the left key of your keyboard until the arm of the typewriter coincide with the last character of the line of text. Keep the next keypoint on the right and delete all the other following keypoints on the right. Remember how many keypoints (n) you delete.
Select the SHADOW object, select the last keypoint and delete n keypoints (press n times the DEL key of your keyboard).
- Delete slide #1.
Save the pte project as a new file (Save as…).
Convert the animation into an exe or a video.
You can make all the modifications you want and include this effect in your slideshow.
Optional modifications :
The animation is by default for 7 lines of text. You can add or removes lines.
How to add more lines :
- For slide [LINE 07] (slide #9), rename the 3 text objects. By example, if you want to add 2 more lines : [LINE 05] => [LINE 07] [LINE 06] => [LINE 08] [LINE 07] => [LINE 09]
- Copy slide [LINE 06] (slide #8) and paste it just after as many times as you need to add more lines. By example, if you want to add 2 more lines (total of lines = 9), you will paste it twice.
For each duplicated slide, change the name of the text objects.
Examples : for new slide #9 : [LINE 04] => [LINE 05] [LINE 05] => [LINE 06] [LINE 06] => [LINE 07]
for new slide #10 :
[LINE 04] => [LINE 06]
[LINE 05] => [LINE 07]
[LINE 06] => [LINE 08]
- Use slide#1 to compose the text of the additional lines. Rename the name of the objects to make things easier for the next steps. [LINE 01] => [LINE 08], [LINE 02] => [LINE 09], etc...
- For the added slides and the 2 next slides, you can now follow steps 2, 3 and 4 of the standard procedure.
How to remove lines :
Let’s take and example and consider you want only three lines of text. - Delete slides [LINE 03] to [LINE 06] (slides #5 to #8) - For slide [LINE 07], rename the 3 text objects.
[LINE 05] => [LINE 01]
[LINE 06] => [LINE 02]
[LINE 07] => [LINE 03] You can now follow the standard procedure
